DIRECT SCHOOL ADMISSION FOR PIONEER JUNIOR COLLEGE


Direct School Admission 

PJC will consider graduating students for direct admission into JC1 prior to the release of their GCE ‘O’ level results based on their special talents.

Performing Arts

The college is considering students from the following Performing Arts groups:

  • Symphonic Band
  • Choir
  • Chinese Orchestra
  • Modern Dance
  • English Drama
  • Chinese Drama
  • Malay Drama, Malay Dance
  • Tamil Drama, Indian Dance

Sports

PJC is also considering athletes in the following sports:

  • Canoeing
  • Netball (Girls)
  • Rugby (Boys)
  • Volleyball (Boys)

ADMISSION CRITERIA

For the Performing Arts group, students applying through DSA should satisfy ONE of the following:

  • Received at least Silver Award in the latest SYF Central Judging Competition.
  • Participated in prestigious competitions or in music festivals.
  • Outstanding individual talent in the respective arts group.

For the sports group, students applying through DSA should satisfy ONE of the following:

  • Representative in Inter-Schools/ Youth/ Combined Schools/ National Team.
  • Achieved top 4 positions in Zone/ National Competitions.
  • Outstanding individual talent in the respective sports.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Phase 1
Interested students may apply on-line by 23 June 2008.  The college will contact you to attend audition or selection trial. Students will have to pass an interview AND selection trials or auditions in order to join the college.

Phase 2
Students may apply on-line by 28 July 2008. The college will contact you to attend audition or selection. Students will have to pass an interview AND selection trials or auditions in order to join the college.

Phase 1
30 June 2008 to 16 July 2008; From 1600 hours  

Phase 2
23 July 2008 to 1 August 2008; From 1600 hours

Students will be informed of the date of interview/ trial/ audition by phone.
