The CCHY Festival Drum Group is special as it represents the 24 "Jieling (Sub-sessions)". The drums have their special meaning as well; the red, black and yellow symbolise auspiciousness and passion, perseverance, the Chinese culture and tradition respectively.

Our Group is unique in that our performing style is based on the combination of the Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts), calligraphy and dance. The Festival Drum Group is not only a performing group but a CCA group that emphasizes a lot on discipline, character building and teamwork as well as a well-balanced and happy life. A positive attitude on the part of the members is essential for learning and character building.

中正中学（义顺）节令鼓队， 从 1996 年成立至今， 已经 11 个年头了。在过去的 11 年里，中正节令鼓队的校内及校外的表演，已经超过了 120 次， 其中的 100 次是校外及国外的演出。 看过他们表演的人， 真是数以万计， 好评如潮。

去年 6 月假期到中国的交流活动，我校节令鼓队便到了中国上海的建平实验学校及北京的鼓楼表演，获得当地的学者及有关人士高度的评价。今年 6 月，鼓队除了参与新加坡艺术节的表演，还受教育部课外活动处的邀请，在青年节开幕礼上参与演出。鼓队将继续努力，使节令鼓成为具有区域特色的表演艺术。

Chung Cheng High School (Yishun) Festival Drum Group, in short CCHY Festival Drum Group, is founded on 26 th May 1996 . Since then it has performed for many big organizations in China , Malaysia and Singapore . To name some, they include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University , the Scouts Association, Lions Club International, Singapore Conference Hall, MediaCorp, Radio 95.8 FM and People Association etc.

In 2006, CCHY Festival Drum Group has made some very remarkable performances. They went on an immersion trip to China ( Shanghai and Beijing) and performed for the first time at the Beijing Drum Tower - a 700 years old building. They have performed more than 120 performances in the past 10 years.

CCHY Festival Drum Group is reputed as the most active, most energetic, most lively and most skillful Festival Drum Group in Singapore . They often represent Singapore in many cultural, racial harmony and arts performance occasions.
