'News Focus':
This is a programme to encourage pupils in the lower primary to share their 'news' or personal experiences during Oral English period.

Speech Enrichment Programme:
Speechworks lessons are integrated into the English Language curriculum for primary 1 and 2 to equip pupils with the skills for listening, speaking and reading through Phonics in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.

English Activity Month:

To foster the spirit of Innovation and Enterprise (I & E), pupils are given the opportunity to showcase their varied talents and abilities in scriptwriting and stage performances on poetry, skits, raps, reader's theatre and newscasting. Upper primary pupils researched on Social Studies and National Education themes for their scripts. Creative writing contests are held to promote the English language. All these activities support the Speak Good English Movement.

Buddy Reading:

Primary 1 and 2 pupils from the Learning Support Programme (LSP) are paired with upper primary pupils who read to them every morning from 7 am to 7.25 am. These buddy tutors encourage them to try to 'Reach For The Stars' through reading.

Newspaper Cutting:

To nurture a generation of avid readers and critical thinkers, upper primary pupils read and select newspaper articles, summarize and write personal comments on them.

Journal Writing:

To encourage reflection on their experiences or current issues and free expression, pupils write weekly journals. Teachers and pupils are able to build rapport when they ‘talk’ to one another on a one to one basis.
