Science Programmes

The central philosophy of science education is “science as an inquiry”. Since our teaching and learning approaches are geared towards nurturing students as inquirers, it is essential to instill the love for science and nurture them to be inquirers at a young age.

We believe that our students should be exposed to the various modes of learning and assessments. We need to develop them into engaged and persistent learners with inquiring minds so that they will be self-motivated and work hard towards achieving their best for their ‘N' and ‘O' levels. We will equip them with the appropriate skills that allow them to survive in the outside world by infusing capitalizing on the potentials of “Teach Less Learn More”. We also focus on the infusion of Thinking Skills, Information-Communication Technologies, National Education and Social-Emotional Learning competencies in our daily lessons.

The learning of Science is not just confined to the classroom or the school. We have an enrichment structure that exposes students to the learning of science beyond textbooks and classrooms. In the past year, we have organized a series of interesting events to engage students in learning Science through a fun and enriching way.

  • Body Talk Week
  • Investigative Projects (Problem-Based Learning)
  • Common Physics Misconceptions (Cluster Sharing Workshop)
  • Discover and Explore (Science-and-Geography Trail)
  • Science Odyssey (Science In-house Workshop)
  • Field Trips (e.g. Sungei Api-Api, Science Centre)
  • Oversea Field Trips (e.g. Learning Journey to Vietnam )
  • SAIL (Strategies for Active and Independent Learning)
  • Using Dataloggers
