In The Beginning...

Kent Ridge Secondary School was born in 2000 and was housed in the former Yusof Ishak Secondary School premises at Jubilee Road. At the start of the school year of 2000, we attracted 10 teachers and 155 students who dared to dream and translate them into realities. We were prepared to break new grounds in every area of our lives and to establish new frontiers continuously. With our limited resources, we created many learning opportunities for ourselves and had fun together as a family.

We began to make our presence felt through our involvement in events organised by external agencies such as the Clementi Police Station and the West Coast Community Centre. We also engaged our parents actively in our school events such as the Mooncake Festival, the West Zone Schools Fair and our Annual School Sports Day.

We believe in developing our students holistically by providing opportunities for them to learn new skills and be prepared to contribute readily to the society in the near future. Progressively, we introduced new and meaningful programmes to help our students grow in all areas.

To stimulate our students intellectually and add a competitive edge to our curriculum, we have exposed our students to many national and international competitions like the Australian Mathematics and Science Competitions, the Mathematics Olympiad, the Junior Robotics Competition and the National Software Competition.

Opening Ceremony

The rigorous preparations, rehearsals, and toils of late nights that stretched from the end of 2002 culminated in the very successful opening of Kent Ridge Secondary School on 15th March 2003.

It was a day of heart-stirring peaks and climaxes in the successive stream of events and performances by the various CCA groups. These highly-strung episodes rounded off with a lovely, mellow dinner in the star-lit evening accompanied by the angelic voices of our choir and the rhythmic tunes of our band.

This very significant occasion marked the pioneering efforts and spirits of Kent ridge secondary school's staff, students and the wider school community. This milestone marks the beginning of the future of Kent Ridge secondary school, where challenges will be relished and our school motto "Beyond Frontier" will accompany us faithfully through our various pursuits and expeditions.
