Our Sports House System
All Kent Ridgeans, both students and staffs, are divided into 5 houses with names taken from the 5 brilliant constellations in the universe -literally Beyond Frontiers.
Auriga the Charioteer

House Master: Mr Wong WK
Auriga is an ancient Northern constellation featuring Capella, one of the brightest stars in the sky. Auriga is widely regarded as a charioteer, with origins in Greek mythology about Erichthonius, King of Athens. He had difficulty in walking which led to him inventing the first four-wheel chariot. This invention brought him a place of honor in the sky in the form of a constellation.

Cassiopeia the Queen

House Master: Mr Tan KC
Cassiopeia is a Northern constellation. It can be identified by its stars which form the shape 'W'. It has origins in Greek Mythology as the beautiful, but vain, queen of Cephues, King of Ethiopia. Due to her vanity, she was punished by Greek God Posideon and placed on a chair which rotates around the Pole Star, so half of the time she has to sit upside down.

Lyra the Lyre

House Master: Mr Chan KH
The Lyra is a small constellation, but it is home to the Vega, the fifth brightest Star of the galaxy. Lyra was said to be the magical harp given to Oprheus by Mercury or Apollo. It produced the most beautiful music when played by Oprheus and charmed every person or animal and even non-living things. When Oprheus died, Lyra was placed in the sky by Greek God Jupiter.

Orion the Great Hunter

House Master: Ms Kai SM
Orion is one of the most well-known and prominent constellation. A legendary hunter of Greek Mythology, Orion had skills that none could match. However, he became too proud of his abilities and his constant boasting angered the Gods. They sent a scorpion to sting and kill Orion as a punishment. Orion was then placed in the sky, to remember the great hunter by and to warn against the sin of ego and pride.

Pegasus the Winged Horse

House Master: Mr Mohd Taib
Pegasus, was the son of Neptune and Medusa, sprang from the blood of Medusa when it dropped into the sea after her head had been severed by Perseus. Pegasus appears again and again throughout mythology, he was captured by Bellerophon at the water of his fountain and ridden by him when he killed Chimaera. Pegasus became the thundering horse of Zeus which is why he appears among the stars.

- Bring students from diverse background together to foster team spirit and emotional bonding
- Imbue in pupils a sense of loyalty and belonging to the group regardless of race and ability
- Provide avenues for mass participation and interaction
