Description |
1. |
Learning
Support Programme |
|
This
programme started in January 1993. This is an early
intervention programme where slow learners or those
with learning difficulties in Primary 1 & 2 are
given special assistance so that they can be put back
in the mainstream when they are able to cope better
with normal class activities. Foreign students who have
language difficulties are also included in this programme. |

2. |
ENABLE
Programme |
|
This
programme was implemented in 1997. This programme caters
to children who are deemed to be of average or above
average intelligence and ability but, due to certain
factors, are not performing up to expectations. |

3. |
Trim
and Fit Programme |
|
Implemented
in January 1991, the programme caters to the over-weight
children and it is on-going to help these obese children
realise the importance of exercise and a balanced diet
to keep trim and fit. Activities are carried out weekly. |

4. |
Reading
Buddy Scheme |
|
This
scheme was started in 1989. It identifies poor or reluctant
readers from the P3 classes who are paired with good
readers from P5 with the objective of helping them to
learn and read and to inculcate in them a love for reading.
Due to the success and benefits of the scheme, it has
since been extended to P1 & P2 pupils under the
charge of the LSC. |

5. |
Collaborative
Projects with Local and Overseas School |
|
Via
the internet, our pupils communicate with their counterparts
in other local and foreign primary schools. This project
was initiated in early 1998 and pupils are actively
exhanging views on educational, cultural and other interesting
current issues. |

6. |
Pastoral
Care & Career Guidance |
|
The
formal PCCG programme was implemented in the curriculum
in January 1998. Pastoral Care has been on-going and
has always been given emphasis in the school. |

7. |
Community
Involvement Programme |
|
A
committee was set up to draw the workplan for the programme
in 1998 to include all pupils from P1 to P6. Each pupil
is expected to spend 6 hours in community work per year. |

8. |
Conflict
Manager Programme |
|
In
1998, 30 pupils were trained by the Guidance Officers
from the PCCG Department as 'Conflict Managers'. These
conflict managers are supposed to help resolve conflicts
among their peers. The programme was implemented on
18 January 1999. |

9. |
Gifted
Education Programme |
|
Nan
Hua Primary School was selected as a Gifted Education
Programme (GEP) centre in 1999. There are 6 GEP classes
under the supervision of 15 GEP teachers. For more information,

LEAD
ICT |
|
Nan
Hua Primary School is selected as a LEAD ICT school
to promote the innovative use of IT. PrIEsTa Experience
@ Nan Hua Primary is a LEAD ICT project which attempts
to integrate Project Work (Pr). Innovation & Enterprise
(IE) and Technology (T) to facilitate inquiry learning.
The PrIEsTa framework drives the design and implementation
of learning expeditions with the use of handheld technologies. |
