Arts for Life Programme
The Music Department will be embarking on a new programme (Arts for Life) for the Secondary Two students in 2006. The aim of the programme is to give the students opportunity to experience different art electives. Students will be offered three electives to choose from; namely
- The Basic Guitar Course
- The Pop Rock Music Appreciation Course
- The Dance Course
In the Basic Guitar Course, students will learn the correct technique of holding a guitar and how to play the guitar, including strumming. The Pop Rock Music Appreciation Course allows students to select contemporary music to play. The students will play in a band, which consists of the electric guitar, the bass, the keyboard and the drums. In the Dance Course, students will learn basic dance steps, such as hip-hop, etc. and dance together as a group. At the end of the course, students in all three electives will put up a public performance in school. This allows them to showcase what they have learnt and achieved from the programme.
