Graduating Class 4/5 Speech
Good afternoon Madam Choy, Mr. Shawal, distinguished guests and fellow Outramians. I am jayaraj from Sec 4/5 here to be the voice of my class. It can be said that my class is both academically and physically inclined. So we may not always be studying and we are not always playing. The different personalities present in Sec 4/5 make it a very interesting class. We have people in the class taking part in many different sports. Even the girls are very sporty. PE is often a battlefield and its not only the boys who are fierce. But it is hilarious fun when we get to play games together.
My class has been blessed with the good fortune of having very exemplary role models as our teachers. To our class, they are the epitome of benevolence, for no matter how cheeky we may be or how many mistakes we may make, the teachers forgive us. The gratitude that we feel towards the teachers can in no way be conveyed by words alone. Why do I say this you ask, well, there are many reasons.
The teachers had to get used to the amplified sound which affected the ambience of the class during lessons. We also sometimes forget the passing of time when it is time to hand in our homework. So sometimes the teachers have to hound us for the work.. My class has an abnormally intensive sense of humor. And at times, we also tend to blunder at the gates of slumber. But the teachers have put up with all that and forgiven us time and again. This goes to show the level of empathy that they have for us. They have unfalteringly provided us with the moral support and encouragement which is vital for creating an interest in studying for us and to help us achieve good grades in the exam.
To Mr. Derrick Wong, Mr. DT, Ms. You, Mrs. Yao, Mr. Samson Wong, Ms. Huda, Mrs. Law, Mrs. Mani, Ms Chen and Mr. Hazlan, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being the lamps that lighted up the dark path. We promise, we will not fail to do you proud. We possess true camaraderie, and will use our strength as a class, to rise to the pinnacle of our lives, and become polymaths of unrivalled intellect. In a nutshell, Sec 4/5 2005 is S.A.N.G.U.I.N.E. S standing for sporty, A for awesome, N for naughty, G for graceful, U for united as one, I for intellectual, N for never defiant and finally E for Exemplary. I would now like to read a poem written by a budding poet in my class, Jerome as a tribute the class.
People of differences in religion and race
Were put together in four walls, like the crops in a field of maize
Our unity could rival the birds migrating before winter
As the days went by, our bonds grew stronger
The classroom became our Second home
In there we forgot what was being alone
There was an abundance of joy in the class
We had fun together, from dawn till dusk
There were times when disputes inevitably arose
But we never stayed, too long, morose
We shall work hard for success, even if it means no rest
Together as one, we shall strive for the best…
All the best Sec 4/5 in the upcoming exams. Strive for the best. And I am sure that this school, principle, vice principle, teachers, staff and even the plants which add aesthetic value to the school will not be forgotten. It is going to be a sad parting for Sec 4/5 at the end of the year. But Sec 4/5 2005’s spirit will live on, as part of Outram’s history for all eternity.
Thank you.
Graduating Class 4/6 Speech

A very good afternoon to our distinguished guests, Madam Choy, our principal, Mr. Shahwal, our Vice-Principal, beloved teachers and fellow outramians. It is truly an honour to able to stand in front of you to give you my farewell speech on behalf of my class, Secondary 4/6. It is said that success comes with one percent inspiration and 99 percent dedication. But, in my class's case, it was vice-versa. To be able to give you this speech would not have been possible without the support and dedication of my teachers.
The role of a teacher is important. They are replicas of our parents at home. Like our parents, they shower their love and concern for us, as well as discipline us. For all these, Secondary 4/6 would like to express its deepest gratitude to you.
Firstly, may I thank Mr. Derrick Wang, Mr. Samson Wang, Miss Marilyn Ang, Mr. Teng, Mr. Haslan, Madam Chua, Mr. Ong and all the other teachers who have taught us since secondary one. A special tribute goes to Mr. Sim, our beloved form teacher. Mr. Sim, you have once told us that you can only bring the horse to the river. But whether it drinks it or not, will be the horse's choice. Till today, we, your pupils, remember those wise words. Mr. Sim, we want you to know that you are the unseen hand behind our success. You have never failed to see the shinning potential in each one of us and you are truly a gem which we will hold dearly to our hearts.
As for the school, I thank you Madam Choy, for providing us with opportunities to shape our intellect and character through the various enrichment programmes which the school has organized for us. Through these, we have learnt the six core values. Most importantly, we have learnt about evolving into servant leaders of tomorrow. A US novelist once said that being a leader is not about ability but is about responsibility. And responsible teenagers, we have indeed grown up to be through our stay here. As for you, my fellow classmates, I thank you for the memories that we have given me over the years. They shall remain vividly alive in my hearts.
It is said that every action has a reaction. The flame the school has ignited in us will continue to be an eternal one. Our school's motto, "Labour Conquers All" will still be part of our lives as we bravely step foot into the next phase of our lives. We will continue to shine in our respective fields and bring glory and honour to our alma mater. We will make every effort to reap the fruits of our teacher's labour in the upcoming "O" level examinations.
My dear friends of the cohort 2005, may I exhort you to soar on eagle's wing and make our school proud of us. With that, I thank you.
Graduating Class 4/7 Speech

A very good afternoon to the Principal Mdm Choy, Vice-Principal Mr Shawal, guest, teachers and fellow Outramains. Firstly I would like to start off my speech by welcoming our new vice-principal Mr Hussein to the school, can we please give him a big round of applause. Thank you!
Today I’m on stage, in front of all of you, not just to deliver a graduation speech but to tell you a story, a story of a class, a class always filled with enthusiasm, a class always stood as one, a class with the lucky seven. This is the story of secondary 4/7.
It was the year 2004, and it was the first day of the first term, the day we met one another for the first time, not as Outramians but as pupils of secondary 3/7. We started off as any other ordinary class, lessons, lessons, lessons and eventually more lessons. It was in fact kind of a boring start. We realized that if this was to continue, then half the class would go snoring, so we decided to add some spice, spice that would really turn up the heat. Lessons started to take a turn from boring ones to hilarious and joyous ones.
Teachers started adapting themselves to our environment and atmosphere and got to know each of us better this way. Yes, I admit that at times we did cross the limits but we realized and learnt from our mistakes fast. We also studied our teachers well and knew what the tolerance level of each subject teacher was, and we ensured that their tolerance level was always neutral so as not to get into any trouble with them because we knew how severe their punishments were; trust me, they were severe.
All our subject teachers had put in lots of effort and have sacrificed their time for us. We have teachers who are willing to sacrifice their off days to meet us else-where just to make sure that we understood lessons. We also have teachers who are even willing to risk their jobs to give us papers from other schools. They place their trusts in us and we vice-versa. These teachers have the ability to communicate with us emotionally and understand how we felt about certain issues, and this, I think, marks them out as exceptional teachers.
.
Secondary 4/7 is a class of multi-talents. We have a great woman athlete who runs like the wind, two good goal-keepers with remarkable reflexes, a bunch of basketball, floorball and soccer pros, star quality singers, unique chefs you name it and the list goes on and on. But what’s really special about our class is that despite having so many talents, we all share one common talent and passion, and that is the artistic flair. Yes, we are an art class! During art lessons our imagination runs wild, wild to the extreme of decorating ones hair and body with glitter, getting paints on our uniforms and eventually messing up the art room all these in the name of art. In our class junk can be transformed into a Chinese styled grave and even a broken door can become a masterpiece. This really shows how much of creativity my class has to offer.
This story of secondary 4/7 will soon come to an end, but we, four-seveners, know that this end will definitely start a new chapter in each and everyone’s life story. Wherever we go, whatever we do and whomever new we meet, memories of this school, this wonderful class, the teachers and friends, will always stay with us till our last breathe.
Before I end my speech for the afternoon, my class, secondary 4/7, would now give a standing ovation to the outstanding teachers and friends who have played a role in our lives. Secondary 4/7 please…
Thanks for your kind attention; you’ve been a wonderful audience. On behalf of secondary 4/7 signing off from ll of you is Zhan Hao.
Graduating Class 4/8 Speech

A very good afternoon to our distinguished guests, our principal, Madam Choy, our Vice-Principal, Mr. Shawal, teachers and fellow Outramians. On behalf of the entire class of secondary 4/8, I would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks and gratitude to all who have helped us during our stay here.
Firstly, I would like to thank our teachers, Miss Low, Mdm Tan, Miss Siow, Mr. Hazlan, Mrs. Selvan, Miss Ang, Mr. Lee, Mr. Krishna, Mr. Alvin Ng, Mrs. Law, Miss You, Miss Lee, Mr. Teng, Mr. Wong, Mrs. Yow and all the other teachers who have helped and taught us since secondary one.
Dear teachers, thank you for putting up with our complaints, stubbornness, playfulness, inattentiveness and our occasional rebellious and disrespectful ways towards you. Although you scolded us and we responded by showing that we did not care or that we disliked you, we all know that deep in our hearts, you really cared for us and wanted only the best for us. For the times that you have nagged at us and pushed us, we want you to know that we still appreciate you. We all thank you for because of that we are who we are today, individuals who bear the hallmark of distinction.
Thank you for also shepherding us. As shepherds, you have cared for us and you have nurtured us. You have guided us back on track when we were lost. Thank you also for sacrificing for us.
Today, we also want to deeply show our gratitude to our form teacher, Miss Low. You have defended us when no one else would; you have believed in us even though others saw no hope in us; you have pushed us and encouraged us by whatever method possible. I know we have not always been the ‘dream class’ or the easiest class to handle but we really thank you for trying again and again and persevering until now. We will never forget you.
To my fellow schoolmates, thank you for the great memories. I will always remember all the fun we had together, the experiences shared, both good and bad and the hard work that we have to endure together to succeed. I will never forget these and they shall be fond memories that I will take with me after I leave this school.
To conclude, as the class of 2005, we promise the school that we will shine and do our school proud, not only in our upcoming academic performance but also in all areas of work which we will undertake in the future. As Outramians, we will walk in the footsteps of the great men and women who have walked before us. We will make our Alma Mater proud of us as we go forth and contribute to our society. With this, I would like to wish all those graduating all the best in their exams and future endeavors. It has been a long journey but we will make it! Thank you.
Graduating Class 4/9 Speech

A very good afternoon to our distinguished guests, our Principal, Madam Choy, our Vice- Principal, Mr Shawal, teachers and fellow school mates. It is indeed an honour and privilege to be standing here this afternoon on behalf of my class of Secondary 4/9 to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the people who have shaped and moulded our lives throughout our 4 yrs stay in Outram Secondary School.
First and foremost, my class and I would like to express our utmost gratitude to the school for its provision of endless opportunities to help us grow physically and mature emotionally and intellectually. Be they enrichment courses or external competitions, we have learnt invaluable lessons and values such as teamwork, perseverance and integrity that will see us through in times ahead.
In addition, we would like to thank all our dedicated teachers, both current and those who have taught us since the day we stepped into the grounds of Outram, for not only inspiring us in their respective subject areas, but also for going the extra mile for us. For the countless things that you have done, we are indeed grateful.
Today, we would also like to remember a particular teacher who has a special place in our hearts. She is none other than our former form teacher Mrs Law Bee Luan, who left us this year to take up a new position. Mrs Law, your sensitive nature and concern for us all have endeared 4/9 to you. You have always been there for us; you have always cared for us and you have always mothered us just like we were your very own children. From you, we have learnt the true meaning of care and concern and the importance of having the right values in our lives. How the latter has radically transformed our lives for the better and for this we are all indebted to you.
As for you my classmates, thank you for your friendship, for encouraging me when I felt down at times, for teaching me life lessons and for the many good times that we have had together. All these will truly have a special place in my heart.
And to all of you, the class of 2005, may I take this opportunity to encourage you to give of your best in the upcoming exams so that we can reap the fruits of both ours and our teacher's labour. Let not your spirit falter at a such a crucial time such as this. But let us help one another, let us run the final lap together, let us persevere and conquer every hurdle that lies in our paths. Let us never say die but together, let us succeed and beat all odds. May we do the school proud and may we serve as a source of inspiration to the batches of graduating classes to come.
Adieu my friends and all the best in your future endeavours. Thank you.
