Public Speaking
Junior Colleges Debating Championship (2002)
organised by MOE and RJC
- RJC defeated NJC in the final to emerge champions.
- Li Shengwu (1A01A) won the Best Speaker for the Final
and Best Speaker of the Series awards.

Plain English Speaking Award (2002)
- Wong Shi Ming (2A01B) won the Singapore section
and received a $150 book voucher.
He represents Singapore in the Asia-Pacific regional finals,
to be held in Melbourne in December.
Drama
Singapore Youth Festival (2002)
- The RJC entry, 'My Journey Home', won a bronze medal.
Raffles Players (2002)
- Raffles Players presented 'Fanshen' by David Hare,
as part of RJC's Arts Festival 2002.
- Raffles Players students helped at the Ulu Pandan Community Club's
Family Day on Vesak Day.
- Raffles Players presented the original musical
'Bubble, Bubble Toil and Trouble' by Kenneth Yap at Ulu Pandan CC
on 19th and 20th July. The planned evening performances were sold out
and an extra matinee performance was provided on 20th July, playing to a full house.
Proceeds went to the Singapore School for the Visually Handicapped.

- All four faculties entered plays; the CPS faculty won.

Singapore Young Dramatists Award (2002)
- Foo Yong Yu Leon won first prize
- Wong Chen Seong won 3rd prize
- Four other RJC students entered this national playwriting competition
Afternoon of Poetry and Music (2002)
- Held on 20th July, organised by the RJC Creative Writing Club.
- The Lee Tzu Pheng poetry award was inaugurated.
This is now an annual prize competition.
