Coursework regarding law, crime and punishment will focus on understanding the relationship between these issues — how the provisions of the law attempt to contain and cure the instances of crime. Students will think about the usefulness of punishment, particularly that of capital punishment, in eradicating crime, as well as the degree to which a society at large can be held responsible for its criminals.
