To develop esprit-de-corps among members.
To create opportunities for social and aesthetic experiences through daily practices and performances

Brief Description

Our school concert band was formed in February 1994 with 50 members. Since its inception, the band has grown from strength to strength. To date, there are 80 members comprising the recruits, the intermediate and the performing band.

Programme

A comprehensive programme has been drawn up for the members. Band members are taught the theory of music as well as the mastery skill of playing the musical instruments based on the 30 week plan. All band members are trained to be responsible for the individual instruments issued to them. A workshop is conducted annually on the proper maintenance of the instruments.

Performances

Since its formation, our school band performs regularly for school functions and public performances. The band has performed at MacRitchie Park, Chinese Garden, National Day Celebration at the Hong Kah North C.C, Raffles Marina and at Boon Lay Garden Primary for its music appreciation programme. The band has also participated in two Band Presentations (SYF), in 1996 ( Bronze ) and 1998 ( COP ).
