Dear Parents/Guardians

Please be informed that the Streaming Exercise for the Sec 2 pupils will be taking place from 17 Oct to 5 Nov 2008. Please note that the channeling of Sec 2 pupils to various Sec 3 classes will be based on merit. The pupils preferences will be taken into consideration. The child/ward will be briefed by the streaming committee in school on the use of the Streaming Programme on the 17 Oct 2008.

From 17 Oct to 20 Oct, pupils must enter their subject preferences by accessing the following URL address

The pupils will login with their

The deadline for entering the subject preferences is 20 Oct 2008 by 2359hrs.

Please spend time discussing with your child/ward the various subject combinations and key-in the options at the comfort of your home or in school at the various computer labs by the deadline given. The results of the Streaming Exercise will be posted in our school website.

8th Singapore National Crystal Growing Challenge

The Department of Chemistry, at the National University of Singapore and the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry, are jointly organising this biennial Singapore National Crystal Growing Challenge for students.

Our Science Department sent 2 teams for this competition. From the 100s of participating secondary schools, which included some of Singapore’s top and elite schools, one of our school’s team clinched the second place in the junior category.

NCC(SEA) Competition

I'm happy to share with all of you that our school NCC(SEA) girls came in third in overall standing in this year NCC Sea Competition which is held on 3rd and 4th September at Upper Seletar Sea Training Centre.

It is a tough fight competiting with 15 other schools, not forgetting that most of our Muslim girls are fasting throughout the 2 days of competition. Everyone have done a great job!

E3 Cluster Maths Trail 2008

E3 Cluster Maths Trail 2008 was held at the Singapore Changi Airport (Terminal 2 and 3) on 5 Sept. The five schools which took part in the trail were Dunman Sec, East Spring Sec, Junyuan Sec, Siglap Sec and our school, Springfield Sec.

It was a Maths Trail for Secondary Two students (Exp, NA and NT). Selected teams of Secondary Two students from each school gathered and competed with one another for Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies.

The Chinese department took part in the national READ! Singapore competition held at the Woodlands Regional Library on 23rd August 2008, Saturday and came in Second Place!

We were also invited by the NLB to display our students' works at the National Library on 27th August 2008, Wednesday for the closing of this event.
